When Do “They Let the Bears Out”?

Bears are wild animals and roam freely in our National Park and surrounding areas. They are not “let out” like a zoo. Your best chances to see black bear in their natural habitat would be to drive though Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail or Cades Cove at Dawn or Dusk between April and November as this is when they are most active.

How Do I Check In?

What Do I Do If the Power/Internet/Cable Goes Out?

Please text me at 804-654-1926, let me know what cabin you are staying at so that I can make a report to the appropriate agency. Unfortunately our cabins work just like your homes do and will experience outages during storms, downed power lines, wrecks, satellite interference and the like. Please let me know and have patience.

Why is My Hot Tub Cold?

Check the thermostat on the control panel to see what the temp is. If you just arrived at 4pm (or before) it’s possible that housekeeping just refilled it and it needs time to heat up. If you have been there a while or for a few days and it’s cold – call or text me immediately at 804-654-1926.

What Time Is Check In/Check Out?

CHECK IN IS 4PM *If the cabin is ready early, I will message you.  PLEASE, DO NOT JUST SHOW UP EARLY!!! CHECK OUT IS 10AM NO LATE CHECKOUT unless discussed with me in advance. Fees of $25 per each 30 mins past 10am check out will be charged.

What Is the Weather Like When I'll Be Visiting The Smoky Mountains?

In the Spring (March-May) expect a lot of fluctuations. The high range from 60°- 80° with lows running below freezing to 60s. Snow is still possible in March especially in higher elevations. The Summer (June-August) means heat, humidity, and rain showers. Highs can reach 90s with lows averaging in the 70s. In the Fall (September – Mid-November) expect warm days with cool nights. Highs ranging between the 50s-70s and lows can reach in the 50s-60s. Snow in highest elevations are possible by November. Our Winters (November – February) are generally mild in TN but extreme weather can happen. January and February you can expect to find snow in the mountains but we only see 1” or more a couple times in the lower elevations. Temps in the 50s with lows in the 20-30’s are normal.
